They are native to mountainous areas of the Mediterranean, Africa and Asia, and feed mainly on the carcasses of large mammals. Photographed in Israel at the Carmel Mountains Hai Bar wildlife sanctuary and breeding centre. These vultures are a breeding nucleus some will soon be released back to the wild
