Digitally enhanced image of a Cape glossy starling (Lamprotornis nitens). This starling is found throughout most of southern Africa. Like all starlings, it uses its sharp tapering bill to feed on insects and fruit, but also feeds on the nectar of aloes. It forms flocks of 6-10 birds that forage in trees or on the ground. Photographed in Zimanga Reserve, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
