Lexington

Lexington (March 17, 1850 – July 1, 1875) was a United States Thoroughbred race horse who won six of his seven race starts. Perhaps his greatest fame came however as the most successful sire of the second half of the nineteenth century; he was the leading sire in North America 16 times, and broodmare sire of many notable racehorses. from Every horse owner's cyclopedia : the anatomy and physiology of the horse; general characteristics; the points of the horse, with directions how to choose him; the principles of breeding, and the best kind to breed from; the treatment of the brood mare and foal; raising and breaking the colt; stables and stable management; riding, driving, etc., etc. Diseases, and how to cure them.
