Flamboyant tree (Delonix regia). This tree, also known as Royal Poinciana, is native to Madagascar but is found from North to South America, and throughout the Caribbean region. The tree grows to between 9 and 14 metres and is well-known for its flame-red flowers that come out in April to June. As the tree matures, it forms an umbrella- shape, making it an ideal shade during the summer months
